Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes in full detail what personal information N7Player ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use our application and website, how we process it, with whom we share it, and the rights and choices you have in relation to your personal data.
N7Player is a media player application only. We develop and maintain a software application that allows users to play their own content from their own sources. We do not provide, host, stream, aggregate, or distribute any media content. We have no knowledge of, and no responsibility for, the content you choose to access through the application.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the N7Player application and website. By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application and website.
For any questions or requests related to your personal data, please contact us via our Support page.
1. Information We Collect
We limit data collection strictly to what is necessary to provide, secure, and improve our service. We do not collect data speculatively or for purposes beyond those described below.
1.1 Account Information
When you register an account on our website, we collect the following:
- Email address: used to identify your account, send transactional communications (subscription confirmation, password reset, support replies), and notify you of material changes to our policies.
- Password (hashed): your password is never stored in plain text. We use a one-way cryptographic hash before storing it. We cannot recover or read your password in any form.
- Account creation date and last login date: used to manage account activity and subscription validity.
1.2 Device Registration
The N7Player subscription is linked to your account email address, not to a specific device. Devices are registered automatically the first time you sign in to the N7Player application on a given device. Each subscription plan defines a maximum number of devices that may be simultaneously associated with your account.
- A unique device identifier is generated by the application upon first login and associated with your account to track the number of authorized devices.
- This identifier is used exclusively to enforce the device limit of your subscription plan and to verify that the device has access to a valid, active license.
- It is not used for advertising, tracking, behavioral profiling, or any purpose other than license validation.
- If you need to remove a registered device or have reached your plan limit, please contact our support team. Changes are subject to the terms of your subscription plan.
1.3 Diagnostic and Log Data
To maintain the stability and performance of our application, we may collect limited technical data when errors or crashes occur. This may include:
- Device type and model
- Operating system name and version
- Application version number
- Error codes and stack traces
- Date and time of the error event
- General network conditions (connection type, not content)
This diagnostic data is used solely to identify and fix bugs, improve stability, and optimize performance. It is never used for advertising or profiling, and is not shared with third parties beyond what is strictly necessary for technical support.
1.4 Payment Information
All payment transactions are processed securely by our third-party payment processors: Stripe and PayPal. These processors are PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, which represents the highest level of payment security certification available.
N7Player does not collect, store, or process your credit card number, bank account details, or any other financial credentials. The payment interface you interact with is hosted directly by Stripe or PayPal on their own secured infrastructure. We receive only:
- A transaction status (success or failure)
- A transaction reference ID for audit purposes
- The subscription plan purchased and its duration
Your full payment details remain exclusively with the payment processor at all times and are governed by their privacy policies.
1.5 Website Access Logs
Our web server automatically records standard access logs when you visit our website. These logs may include your IP address, the pages visited, the date and time of your visit, and your browser type. This information is used solely for server administration, security monitoring, and abuse prevention. It is not linked to your personal account unless a security incident requires investigation.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We believe in strict data minimization. The following information is never collected, recorded, or processed by N7Player:
- Content you stream or play: we have zero visibility into what you watch or listen to. No viewing history, no content metadata, no playback records of any kind are stored on our servers.
- Playlist URLs or content source addresses: the playlist URLs or file paths you enter into the application remain on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
- Behavioral or usage analytics: we do not track which features you use, how long you watch, how you navigate the interface, or any other in-app behavioral data.
- Location data: we do not request, access, or record your GPS coordinates or precise geographic location.
- Contacts or device files: the application does not access your contact list, photo library, documents, or any other files stored on your device.
- Advertising identifiers: we do not use IDFA, GAID, or any advertising tracking identifiers of any kind.
- Social profile data: we do not integrate social media login or collect social profile information.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the personal data we collect only for the following specific, documented purposes:
- Account management: creating, authenticating, and maintaining your user account throughout the duration of your subscription.
- Subscription licensing: validating your subscription status and ensuring your authorized devices have access to the application in accordance with your plan.
- Payment processing: coordinating with Stripe or PayPal to process your purchase and activate your license upon successful payment.
- Transactional communications: sending subscription confirmation emails, renewal reminders, password reset links, and replies to your support requests.
- Security and fraud prevention: detecting unauthorized access attempts, blocking fraudulent subscription activations, and protecting our platform and other users from abuse.
- Technical support: diagnosing and resolving technical issues you report to us, using only the diagnostic data described above.
- Service improvement: using aggregate, fully anonymized crash data to improve the stability and performance of the application.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising, retargeting, or behavioral profiling of any kind, under any circumstances.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): processing your account information, device registration data, and payment reference is necessary to perform the subscription contract you enter into with us. Without this data, we cannot deliver the service.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): processing server access logs and security-related data to protect our platform, prevent fraud, and improve service stability, provided such interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): retaining certain financial transaction records as required by applicable tax, accounting, and financial regulations.
5. Third-Party Services
N7Player works with a strictly limited number of trusted third-party service providers. Each provider is carefully selected and bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection law:
- Stripe (stripe.com): payment processing. Stripe independently collects billing information, IP address, and device data as part of their fraud prevention systems. Stripe is GDPR compliant and offers a Data Processing Addendum. Review their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- PayPal (paypal.com): payment processing. PayPal processes payment data under its own privacy policy and is subject to applicable international financial regulations. Review their privacy policy at paypal.com/privacy.
We do not integrate advertising networks, analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics), social media SDKs, or any other third-party tracking technologies into our application or website.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses only strictly necessary session cookies, which allow you to remain logged in while navigating the site. These cookies contain no personal information beyond a session identifier and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. We do not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar)
- Social media tracking pixels or share buttons that track you
- Persistent cookies beyond your active session
- Browser fingerprinting or similar tracking techniques
The N7Player application itself does not use cookies. Any web views rendered within the application use isolated, sandboxed storage that is not accessible by or shared with your main browser.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and no longer:
- Account data (email address, hashed password): retained while your account is active. Permanently deleted within 30 days of receiving a verified account deletion request.
- Device registration data (device identifiers linked to your account): retained for the duration of your active subscription. Deleted upon account deletion, except in cases where retention is required to prevent repeat fraud.
- Payment transaction records: retained for up to 7 years, as required by applicable tax and accounting regulations. Only the transaction reference and amount are retained, not your payment credentials.
- Diagnostic log data: retained for a maximum of 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted or fully anonymized.
- Server access logs: retained for a maximum of 30 days for security monitoring and abuse prevention.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any right, contact us via our Support page. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your verified request.
- Right of access: you may request a complete copy of all personal data we hold about you, along with information about how we use it.
- Right to rectification: you may request correction of any personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to erasure: you may request the permanent deletion of your personal data. We will comply promptly, unless retention is required by a legal obligation (e.g., financial transaction records).
- Right to restrict processing: you may request that we temporarily limit the processing of your data while a concern or dispute is being resolved.
- Right to data portability: you may request your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (e.g., JSON or CSV) so that it can be transferred to another provider.
- Right to object: you may object at any time to the processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as the legal basis.
- Right to withdraw consent: where any processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
If you are located in the EEA or the UK and believe we have not adequately addressed your concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority (for example, the CNIL in France or the ICO in the United Kingdom).
9. Children's Privacy
N7Player is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from any person under 16 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a minor has registered an account or provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us immediately via our Support page. We will promptly investigate and delete any data associated with a minor's account.
10. Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement the following technical and organizational measures:
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS). We do not permit unencrypted HTTP connections.
- Passwords are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes using bcrypt. They are never stored or transmitted in plain text and cannot be recovered by anyone, including our team.
- Access to our production systems and databases is restricted to a limited number of authorized personnel, protected by multi-factor authentication and strict access control policies.
- We conduct regular reviews of our security practices and apply software updates and patches in a timely manner.
Despite these measures, no information security system is entirely immune to breaches or attacks. In the event of a data breach that poses a significant risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authorities without undue delay, in accordance with applicable law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our data practices, new legal requirements, or updates to the services we offer. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For minor, non-material changes, individual notification may not be provided, but the most current version will always be accessible on this page. Your continued use of N7Player after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page regularly.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests relating to this Privacy Policy or your personal data, we encourage you to contact us. We are committed to handling all privacy-related inquiries with transparency, diligence, and respect for your rights. Please reach out via our Support page and we will respond within 30 days.
